A South Devon Writers’ Retreat

Is Devon the perfect English county for writers? Agatha Christie thought it was, so did Arthur Conan Doyle and R D Blackmoor (author of Lorna Doone).

A view of the sea also helps. It puts things into perspective. There is so much world beyond it, so many possibilities. The sea air is fresh and laden with import. It’s as if ideas come floating inland with the sea mist.

All you need to write is a room of one’s own said Virginia Woolf. But the room in your own home may have multiple distractions. There are so many jobs to do and people to take your mind off the one thing you yearn to do – write. How often can you find a whole week or even a whole day that you can put aside just to write?

That is why so many writers use a writer’s retreat. They need a different atmosphere and a place where they can concentrate on getting their words down on paper or into their laptop.
Imagine a beautiful room with a view of the sea and the peace and quiet to allow your inspiration to take flight. A wholesome breakfast is included in the room rate and is brought to you in your room to set you up for what you love to do – writing. Take a moment in the day to walk along the cliff top and admire the views. Breathe in the fresh sea air and let it clear your head for the next chapter to come naturally.

Jan and Adam will be responsive to your requirements and will help you take the next step towards finishing your writing project.
